Using the NYC Subway

I remember riding the NYC subway for the first time six years ago. After taking a cab five blocks to the station… because I wasn’t exactly sure where the station was… I got out at the intersection of 86th and Lexington, and went into the nearest entrance. Although I wanted to get to Midtown, I ended up on an express train to the Bronx, because I didn’t realize some entrances were strictly for uptown trains, while others were headed downtown. I’m more than experienced with London’s Tube system, but the NYC subway is its own thing. If you’re a New York City newbie, save yourself the trouble I had to go through and check out my beginner’s guide to the NYC subway, published on Tracy’s New York Life. CLICK HERE
